About The Independent Brief

The Independent Brief is built for voters who want to inspect the record for themselves — without being told what conclusion to reach.

Last updated September 9, 2026

What we do

We organize public records, sourced reporting, government actions, legislative activity, funding information, and public sentiment into a format designed for careful review.

Our goal is not to manufacture certainty. It is to make evidence easier to find, compare, and understand.

That standard also applies backward in time. The Historical Record examines major American events through primary documents, timelines, contemporary reporting, later scholarship, and clearly labeled disputes.

What we do not do

We do not endorse candidates, publish party scorecards as editorial conclusions, or disguise opinion as neutral data.

Our standard

Source the claim. Show the record. Explain the method. Correct mistakes visibly. Give readers enough information to decide for themselves.
